Apple Announces MacBook Air Firmware Update Regarding Flash Storage

Apple recently announced a MacBook Air Firmware update regarding Flash Storage to fix the problems of data loss. The Firmware update 1.1 looks for those issues that are resulting in the form of data loss particularly for 64GB & 128GB models.

In some cases, the update 1.1 will only install this new firmware to fix problems. But for some, they might need to request for the drive for replacement. The Apple is replacing drives for free of cost. Apple has issued an announcement of recalling some MacBook Air models last year. The Apple also recommends this update for mid 2013 MacBook Air models.

This recall strategy was announced when the Apple found a part of flash storage drives caught on some MacBook Air models resulting in the form of data loss. As stated, this new update evaluates Drive and in many cases installs this new firmware to tackle the problem. Apple will recall your drive for free of cost if it fails.

This latest firmware can be downloaded from Mac AppStore. People can also get this update from  Apple Support website. To ensure if your drive is affected then proceed to the Mac AppStore, click the Updates & choose MacBook Air Firmware update 1.1 regarding Flash Storage.

The Tech Giant highly recommends that the affected users don’t install any kind of update on their Mac OS. Making data backup is crucial too. As far as possible, the Apple encourages those users who schedule their data backup at regular basis till the company has swapped the drive.
