Now, Mac users can download the newest update for the OS X Mountain Lion and update it to the version 10.8.5. The Apple has issued an update this Thursday after some months of beta testing, confirming that the everything has been fixed and tuned perfectly. This update brings some performance enhancements and fixes lots of security bugs. It’ll probably be the last incremental update to the OS X Mountain Lion before the Apple releases the new version of Mac OS, The Apple OS X 10.9 Mavericks. The last update 10.8.4 for the Mountain Lion was delivered in June.
The Apple says in the formal release documentation that ‘’ The OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.5 update is endorsed for all the OS X Mountain Lion consumers. It enhances the compatibility, stability and security of your Mac PC.’’

Here are several non security fixes included in the 10.8.5 update, containing improving file transfer speeds across the wireless ac networks and the Mail display issues. An In depth list of fixes is given below:

Ø Addresses an issue that stopped a smart card from unlocking the preference panes in the System Preferences
According to the Arstechnica, the update 10.8.5 more than doubles the 802.11ac file transfer speed as compared to the 10.8.4 update.
The Mavericks is estimated to be a noteworthy upgrade on the Mountain Lion with iBooks and Maps apps, multiple monitor support, a faster Safari, an upgraded Calendar app, and power user features in the Finder.
