Over some past months, I’ve installed iOS 7 beta on lots of the devices. Maddeningly, I’ve had to reset my application layouts manually, dragging applications into the folders and onto my favored home screens, application by applicaion.
If you are dealing with the large number of applications, the finest way to do it is through the iTunes, but even in the iTunes, the application organizer leaves lots to be preferred. But the iTunes 11.1, shipping with the OS X Mavericks, is going to modify that a little bit.
Last night, the Apple seeded developer preview 8 of the OS X 10.9 Mavericks, shipping with the new version of iTunes which features this new app screen organizer.
Previously, app screen organizer in the iTunes was totally vertical, and all of home screens were in a lengthy row which had to be scrolled down through. You might see only one home screen at the same time. And that made it very difficult to move, like a number of applications from the ninth homescreen to first, and vice versa.
Difference in the iTunes 11.1 is that the home screens are laid out side by side, making it so easier to move applications. It is very minor change, though I still believe that the Apple might do better: for instance, letting us choose more than one application to shift at a time.
