Apple Stops Flash for OS X Over Some Security Concerns

The Apple used its built in malware protection system to stop the Adobe Flash for OS X on Tuesday over some security concerns. The lockdown shows that only the most recent version of the Flash, 11.8.800.168, will run on the OS X Snow leopard, Mountain Lion and Lion.

The security weakness might allow attackers to get control over the victim’s system and run hateful code.

If the Flash is installed on the Mac you can check to see that which version you are running by releasing system preferences, choosing the Flash Preference Pane, and then selecting the Advanced tab. You can update to the newest version of the Flash from there, or go to the Adobe flash player website to download installer.

If you want Adobe’s flash on the Mac, be sure you are running the new version. Flash could be a security nightmare and its susceptibilities can pose a serious kind of threat to your Mac and also your personal files.
