Free music streaming utilities remain amazingly rare on the mobile devices. The same cannot be said on the Macs & PCs, where Spotify, Rdio, and lots of others have long offered free music streaming.
For much of the summer, I’ve been very unimpressed with the Apple’s iTunes Radio on Mac. The interface has been very poor, the features are very limited, and the content missing, particularly when compared to the iTunes Radio on the iOS 7. Gratefully, the things have changed for the better.
The most current iTunes update for the developers has finally improved the new service. The look of the iTunes Radio, for instance, is much stronger as the screenshot shows. Moreover, now it is very easy to search for your favorite songs that played previously on the iTunes Radio. To do so, you only need to click to the right side of the iTunes player.
Finally, the content accessible for the streaming has been extended. Just this week, for instance, the Beatle’s catalog was added to the iTunes Radio.
For one, I wish there was an isolated iTunes Radio app for the Mac or PC. For another, in spite of many improvements, the iTunes Radio interface leftovers amazingly basic compared to the other services.
However, I am convinced that the Apple has a winner on its hands with the iTunes Radio. Such as, I cannot wait to see what the upcoming time holds for the service, both for iTunes and for iOS.
As a reminder, the iOS 7 releases worldwide beginning tomorrow, Sept. 18. the OS X Mavericks is probably to launch in October.
